Whenever I think the power of journalism is waning, this middle-age white male is cheered by the superb, courageous & incisive work from female journalists like @lzsmitty @sjdemas @PubRadioTracy @RubleKB @LainaStebbinsMI @HeatherCatallo @VickiethomasWWJ to name but a few. 1)

For a profession where not all that long ago (and even still) it was assumed only the men could keep up in the rough and tumble world of politics, business and law, it is ladies like these that I see out front, kicking ass and literally taking names. 2)

The fact that they have done this all the while dealing with the misogyny that clearly is still so entrenched in our society, might just mean that they were actually better suited for the rough and tumble then us men ever were. I am a better journalist for their example.
