Character Journey: Chidi - The Good Place (Digital Exclusive)
You all cannot use your children as messengers. In your farked up marriages and relationships.
Chidi, when he was a kid, when his parents wanted to divorce, he, drew up a board, halfed it, wrote drown the pros and cons of a divorce, and presented it to his parents. "No divorce is better," something like that. In Season 3 (or something, there's one ep solely for him)
At first I thought it's to draw parallels to him being a professor in university. ("I'm literally an Ethics professor in college.")
Why did the show writers write this in?
It is very likely because, to show Chidi Anagonye, HAD to CHOOSE for OTHERS his entire GODDAMN life!
He had to choose for his parents, why they shouldn't break up, shouldn't opt for a divorce, when in reality, the parents having the goddamn problem should be the ones who is resolving this piece of shit relationship they are having! Not the goddamn kid!
Here. Chidi's arc is very similar to mine. https://twitter.com/theironicstory/status/1327603301253222405?s=19
I remembered very clearly. I had a goddamn tweet about me realising that I'm very very similar to Chidi in 2018. I was taking the train, and I realised it. I might link it in this thread when I have the time to find it.
