How the album 'Chromatica' by Lady Gaga is a sequel to The Fame/The Fame Monster and a journey in her subconscious : a thread

All of the component of this thread will our hypothesis on the true meaning of the album based on Lady Gaga’s past work, the interviews she gave about 'Chromatica' and the latent features of the album itself.

This thread will be about how the album 'Chromatica' is in fact the journey that Lady Gaga was going through in her subconscious, where she had to face all her traumas and fears she kept avoiding since the beginning of her career, in order to heal her.

You must know that Chromatica isn’t a physical planet but in fact an alternative way to see reality from Lady Gaga’s spirit.

Lady Gaga has two major traumas in her life that both terribly affected her life and her career. The first one is the r@pe she has been victim of at the age of 19 by an unknown producer. She kept lying to herself, her brain was denying this event and she didn’t treated this

trauma for years by a psychiatrist and during the ARTPOP era, her brain couldn’t handle it anymore and made a withdrawal reaction which conduced to her to develop fibromyalgia, as a result of the r@pe.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease (duration time : 3 mounths-endless) which is caracterised by constant fatigue and random peaks of pain sensation, all neurological.
She also developped in response of the assault social anxiety and depression.

This disease has been a huge issue, leading her to an inability to dance, to sing, she has cancelled several shows between 2017 and 2019 because of it.

The second huge issue that impinged on her life is the incapacity to heal her father, who lost his sister Joanne Germanotta at the age of 15 from auto-immune disease Lupus. Lady Gaga has been affected because during her youth she frequently saw her father crying.

She felt like a responsibility to heal her father in order to forget these hard memories from the past.
Lady Gaga is alleviating all her pains with huge therapies, medication such as antipsychotics, neuroleptics and anxiolytics. She is also appealing to non-dr*g therapy.

Now let’s focus on the main theme of the album, the cure Gaga from all these pains she accumulated since 'The Fame' era. Let's begin with Enigma, the Las Vegas residency.

This tour is incredibly connected to the Album, first of all, by its name, 'Enigma' is also a song from Chromatica. Also by its gap in terms of fashion and personality compared to the 'Joanne'. But also by the symbolic of the storyline of the show.

In the promotional picture of the show. She has a light on her forehead, at the pineal gland spot. The pineal gland (or 3rd eye) is a gland between the hypothalamo-hypophyseal axis of the brain, which create the endorphin hormon, the hormon that creates the feeling of happiness.

This gland has always been worshipped in history, such as with Egyptian, Indian and Mayan civilizations. Also, a lot of former philosophers such as Platon or Freud thought this gland was the portal to the perceivable, or the subconscious, a spiritual word made of ideas and truth,

no physical objects.
And we can notice that throughtout the era Gaga had always showed up with the Chromatica sign on her pineal gland, this is confirming that Chromatica is in fact her subconscious.

She had to go through her subconscious, through Chromatica to heal her because in real life, she would be too weak and hurted to even go seeing a psychologist, and trying to understand her trauma while being conscious wouldn’t be possible because only her subconscious

is remembering everything she lived. Her consciousness forgot purposefully certains hard details to protect itself. So she had to face and understand her fears in her subconscious to heal. It’s called to talking cure, she spoke about it in an interview with Oprah (january 2020)

Now let’s focus on the structure of Enigma. You’ll see that the storyline is the same as the one in Chromatica, it’s the same story.
