For the Canadians who are outside Alberta and trying to understand the absolute baffling state of affairs we are in, you need to understand that this is the result of 50 years of oil and gas propaganda, and it has made us as a society deeply deeply sick. This is normal here.

My uncle, who was born here and did his undergraduate in chemical engineering in the 1980s at the university of Calgary, moved to europe in the 90s. He visited last year and told me about how his thesis for his degree was about how dangerous fracking is.
I'm not defending the actions of people here, but if we want to pontificate on why it seems like the entire province has lost it's mind, consider pointing the finger where it belongs.
