this happens with like every identity group. for the last ~50 years the predominant strategy of capitalism has been to absorb identities into itself instead of exclude them.

which is why identity alone is not an effective banner to organize or resist under

transness is not radical or a sufficient form of resistance to white heteropatriarchal capitalism — it must be coupled with an explicit rejection of these things.

this doesnt mean that wanting to have an easier life or wanting to 'pass' is bad. it just means that transness doesn't really matter politically. you can be a passing, surgery-getting girl and be a communist and u can be a nonbinary reject-gender-norm person and be terrible lol

without a materialist politics, any rejection of gender norms is simply aesthetics
