THREAD: Exclaves Of The Continental United States, i.e. parts of the US that aren& #39;t connected to the rest of the US (and aren& #39;t islands). How fun!
1. The Northwest Angle of Minnesota, created by a cartography mistake that was never corrected. Wants to secede and join Canada but mostly for logistical, not political, reasons.
2. Also in Minnesota, Elm Point is a tiny little uninhabited cape south-southwest of the Northwest Angle. Get it together, Minnesota!
3. & 4. Just west of Elm Point are a couple of even smaller parcels of land that are connected only to Canada but are still US land. What is going on in Minnesota!? I mean, geez.
5. Alburgh, VT is town of about 2000 people living on the amusingly named Alburgh Tongue, a peninsula that& #39;s only connected to Canada and so an exclave of the US.
(This one gets a teeny asterisk: you can still drive there from the US, unlike the others.)

6. Just to the east of the Alburgh Tongue (heh heh heh) is Province Point, a tiny little scrap of land just dangling down into the US. Now THIS is a real exclave, ALBURGH!
7. Finally, probably the best known exclave is Point Robert, aka Point Bob, just south of Vancouver. One of its biggest businesses is mail delivery: Vancouverites can get mail shipped to Point Robert and then just drive down and get it. Cheaper than having it mailed into Canada.
