THREAD/ CW: gender-based violence, death threat

This morning I went for a run at Sutton Wilderness. Overcast day, but perfect temperature to be outside. I was rounding the gazebo about to start my third lap when two residents standing by the gazebo flagged me down.
I stopped, and the man said to me, “I couldn’t in good conscience leave without making sure you knew that after you ran by earlier we overheard a man say ‘Is that Breea Clark? I want to run her over with my car.” I asked who it was and as he described him, I knew exactly who
he was referring to. A brunette white man, probably early 30s, wearing an OU pullover windbreaker, and he smirked when I jogged by. Then the nice man that stopped me offered to follow me on the trail if I wanted to finish my run, but I declined, thanked him, and headed to my car.
I am still processing what happened this morning. In my moment of shock, I did not think to get the names of the witnesses. I want to take a moment to thank them for making me aware of a potentially life-threatening situation that I was literally running right into.
We’re better than this, Norman. I take these threats seriously. I intend to file a police report, because after what Gov. Whitmer experienced in Michigan it’s important to document and stand up against these threats of violence.
If the residents who witnessed this threat see this post, please email or message me.
