This is perfect vindication of my political theory essays.

The state isn't some free-floating bank account where we democratically decide how to divvy out the money. It's a protective realm, and should be under the moral leadership of protectors. https://twitter.com/robkhenderson/status/1330172799663673345
The people courageous enough to build the state have rights to land and political input.

You're an idiot if you think power and real estate should be distributed according to bourgeois capitalism and democracy.
This isn't crude materialism. People with a broader perspective yearn for space. They easily feel claustrophobic and confined otherwise. They're idealists.

They will feel disgusted by normal plebeian life, and will see a great deal worth fighting for in trying to transcend it.

To be sure, this isn't "I'm so great, I deserve a big house".

It's just a question of who should assume the burden of statecraft: hedonists or idealists?

Should Jeffrey Epstein have clout? Should the BLM-supporting masses have clout? Who should be in charge?
If you honestly think this through, you have to concede some form of aristocracy.

There has to be a ladder *out* of materialism and hedonism. And that ladder is a state which consciously contrasts itself against barbarism.
This is a very abstract way of putting it, and it shouldn't be made too practical, but after all is said and done, this is the dynamic which appears.

In the actual process, it doesn't feel like this. It just feels like a generic battle of truth vs. lies.
This is why this theory shouldn't be too explicit in people's minds.

You should pursue what you know is true, right and ethical, and the material instantiation will follow in due course. Idea must precede matter.
If you cling to theories and abstractions, you will become stiff and forced.

Ideally, you will have absolutely no intention of bringing about a material arrangement. You will be completely naive to the ultimate outcome, because truth, ethics and authenticity is its own reward.
A true aristocracy is happy with a life of modesty. Only subsequent try-hard generations become Baroque in their tastes.

A aristocracy which degenerates like this deserves to be toppled.
