Okay, time to find some music and tackle the pile next to my side of the bed.

I need to clean enough so I can put in the new bedside table and move the current one into the living room to be a sofa table.
Yes, I will uncover more knitting projects. This is an area I fight semi annually.

Today is going for a total cleanout.
For reference the bedside table.
First victory, cleaned up and vacuumed behind the door.
Remember small victories count when cleaning.

You can do it. Each square foot can be worth celebrating.

The trick is to keep going, don't just celebrate once.
Also don't get discouraged, cleaning makes its own mess. Things have to be moved while you reorganize.

Also it is okay to just throw things (your own things) away. You don't have to save and sort for recycling if your brain doesn't let you.

I just threw away old worn out shoes.
My brain was saying "They are still good! Just replace the laces!"

And was also saying, "These were bought on the trip when your ex started ramping up his abuse. Let's stop cleaning and be sad instead."

I shut up both voices by putting the shoes in a garage bag and knotting it.
Deep laundry baskets are not the best home for fountain pen supplies, books, glitter sunscreen, and matches.
Also you can vacuum each new clean foot as you uncover it.
Yes, pile avalanches happen. You will reclean and vacuum over the same spot multiple times today.

It is frustrating and hard but keep going.
Everyone has their own way to clean. I like doing a zone or spot at a time. I move everything that has a home to its home, toss garbage, put clothes I can donate into a bag, put clothes I want to keep but not have in rotation in a bin, and stage the rest in a tackle later zone.
Then I vacuum and dust the spot.

Right now my tackle later zone is my side of the bed. It is covered in mail, fountain pen stuff, scarves, and bras.

I'm uncovering boxes I bought for organizing this stuff so they will have homes later tonight.
Oh and I have two laundry baskets for dirty clothes. Because if it is dirty, it gets washed and when I sort into my bins (because drawers don't work for my head) I'll toss the stuff I don't want into a paper bag for donation.
Important newsflash!

I found the other unicorn slipper!
Remember to have drink and snack breaks.

Leave the space and come back and see how much better it has become. You are totally doing it!
