I work at Indigo and i can promise you the store is the least essential store you could go into during a pandemic. It's based around impulse buys and trying to get you to sign up for a worthless 40$ yearly membership.

Genuinely, the entire business is bleeding money, the article gives this massive loss because of the pandemic and it's entirely because the business refuses to move from a "YOU MUST COME IN IT'S FUN BRING THE KIDS!" mentality while doing literally nothing to protect employees

the strategy to 'keep people safe' is to hourly rotate people in different positions around the store. We have 1 person as greeter without a chair, we have 1 person at a severely cut down cash line. and we have 2-4 more people around the store walking to help customers.

We are not given gloves, we do not have wipes to clean things on us, they are usually in the back or at the cash registers.
