This, from @CWhitakerSport, is excellent, though it may underestimate what sport - and this podcast - has meant to people this year. It was the deafening silence at the time Wimbledon should have started that it hit me. That long stretch with no tennis that went on until August https://twitter.com/TennisPodcast/status/1330212707543478279">https://twitter.com/TennisPod...
And then, spoiled as I am, I began to pout about not being in NY for the US Open. But the Tennis Podcast filled a gap, whether through retrospectives covering history I was unaware of (Hello, Althea Gibson), status of upcoming events, and of course, coverage as events began again
They& #39;ve also handled beautifully allegations and drama occurring off and on the court. It& #39;s provided a sense of connection to a global community united in it& #39;s love of dogs. And tennis, of course. It& #39;s been a respite, an escape, accessed through friendly voices on my phone.
It& #39;s helped retain some (probably small) sense of sanity in an otherwise completely insane year. And that& #39;s a service of immense value. I hope everyone who loves tennis will support the podcast, and look forward to listening as Serena wins #24 this year. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😁" title="Grinsendes Gesicht mit lĂ€chelnden Augen" aria-label="Emoji: Grinsendes Gesicht mit lĂ€chelnden Augen">
