Fireworks in the sky are beautiful and sad. They draw you in and last elegantly for fleeting moments, but then they disappear just as fast as they had come.

For the longest time, Kirishima thinks that Bakugou is like the fireworks in the sky.
It's not like Kirishima, or the whole UA campus for that matter, doesn't know that Bakugou is attractive and beautiful—but Kirishima feels like Bakugou is the most beautiful whenever there's only the two of them sharing the comfort and solace brought by Kirishima's room.
Bakugou is the most beautiful when he subtly lets his guard down. When he lets the yawn reflect on his face, or when he subtly scrunches his nose when there's a problem he just can't seem to solve.
Bakugou is the most beautiful when he's just a little more transparent—and that only ever happens when there's only the two of them sharing the four corners of Kirishima's room.

"Gonna fuckin' sleep. G'night, Ei."
But like the fireworks in the sky, Bakugou always disappears just as fast. Even now when they're about to graduate, Bakugou still disappears at nine in the evening, leaving one Kirishima Eijirou longing for even just another minute of admiring Bakugou in his own space.
So before the clock hits nine and the fireworks disappear once again, Kirishima takes a deep breath and lets out the words he'd been trying to hold back since first year of high school.

"You're my best friend."
Bakugou's gaze leaves the book and finally meets Kirishima's. If the redhead is any less emotional right now, he'll be confident enough to say that there's a small smile flaunting against Bakugou's lips at the moment—

but that's more than enough reassurance for him to continue.
"It's been that way since our first year here in UA. All my life I've had good companions, good friends, good buddies, and I shared a lot of good memories with my peers—

But nothing quite as magical as what we have."
Kirishima wants to blame his pouring emotions on the fact that they're almost graduating and he's not even sure if he'll still be able to spend as much time with his best friend.

If he'll even be able to see the fireworks in the sky no matter how short the moment is.
"I always appreciate the fact that you let your guard down around me. That you always let me see just a little bit more than what you always let other people see, what you always let other people perceive about you."
"And I always appreciate the fact that I can be my absolute true self around you, too. I don't have to pretend that I'm okay when I'm not. I don't have to act so cool even if I'm worried. I don't have to smile even though I'm aching inside."
"You've done so much for me in more ways than you can imagine during our time here in UA, and I can only wish to spend more time with you even as we finally graduate. Heck, I could even spend the rest of my life with you and I won't ask heavens for anything else, Katsuki."
Time seemed to stop when he kept on blabbering all the embarrassing thoughts he'd always kept hidden at the back of his mind, but when his mind finally caught up with the meaning of all the words he just said, the heat creeps up on his cheeks and Kirishima starts to look away.
"Are you already proposing to me when you haven't even asked me out for a fucking date, Ei?"

"N-Not a proposal!!!"

"But those words are to sweet I actually think you already said your wedding vows to me or something."
Kirishima knows that Bakugou is teasing. The small smile on his face has long since been replaced by a small smirk which only signifies that he's won, yet Kirishima can only utter an answer with whole honesty.
"Why wait for our wedding vows when I can say those words every single day starting now and for the rest of our lives? When I can tell you over and over and over again how grateful I am to be the one by your side? How much I wish to always be the one by your side?"
Before Kirishima even knows it, Bakugou's arms are already wrapped around him so tightly, like he has no plans of ever letting Kirishima go—

"Took you long enough, idiot."

and who is he to not return the hug he has long since been longing for?
Fireworks in the sky are beautiful and sad. They draw you in and last elegantly for fleeting moments, but then they disappear just as fast.

For the longest time, Kirishima thinks that Bakugou is like the fireworks in the sky, but right now, right at this moment—
As Bakugou's arms are wrapped tightly against him while Bakugou whispers him a promise of a lifetime spent together, Kirishima finally realizes—

Bakugou is not fireworks in the sky.
Bakugou is the sky.

The kind of beauty with love as unbound and unmeasurable as the endless dark blue canvas up with twinkling little stars—and Kirishima could never ask for more.
