One time I was standing by the motorway looking for Tema car, a trotro pulls up followed by a screeching Pajero. The driver of the Pajero gets out, very angry, shouting "wo yɛ kwasia paa!" and proceeds to pull the driver down. Apparently the trotro driver had crossed him. Normal.

Me, I'm trying to board the car but I'm also kɔnkɔnsa so my one leg is inside, the other is still at the bus stop. The Pajero guy is holding the driver's shirt like he's a thief. The trotro drivers reaction? He's just calm repeating "abotare" over and over again.

The people behind me are impatient so I find a seat and crane my neck to see through the windshield. The Pajero guy was really on a roll, insulting the driver's entire generation. The people in the car were starting to get worried. The mate said something that was very profound.

"Oh yɛ bɛ kɔ sesiaa." Calmly, casually. I didn't understand. The Pajero guy was in a rage. He looked like he was one more "abotare" from landing a slap. As for me I just wanted to get to Tema. Everybody had boarded. The mate calls out to the driver. "Master yɛ fast na yɛnkɔ."

The Pajero guy turns to insult the mate too, and that's when the slap from the trotro driver landed. The trotro driver was some legelege guy oh. But the way the slap sounded taa, it was as if someone had used belt to lash table. All the Pajero guy could say was "herh?" E no barb.

Then the trotro driver helped him to his car, giving him advice. "sɛ obi la sɛ 'abotare' ɛsɛ wotie." when he returned the trotro was quiet. When he pulled unto the motorway, I saw the Pajero guy in his car. His head was on the steering wheel, and his shoulders were shaking.

I just want to say that before you fight with a trotro driver, remember that those guys are used to driving 207 Benz without power steering. Act accordingly.
