Dear well meaning people of Twitter - sometimes people (even I) need to be allowed to be sad, frustrated, angry and tired and express these negative feelings without everyone rushing to assure us “It will all be fine. God will uphold you”.

Yes. I know. AND I’m still exhausted.
When the very first thing we say in response is “You’ll be fine” we’re erasing and invalidating the present pain by rushing us into the future.

Jesus knew he was going to raise Lazarus. He still wept with Mary and Martha at the tomb.

Let people have their feelings, ok?
And I say all of that knowing that “you’ll be fine” is meant as a hope, an encouragement and a comfort. People are kind and caring and they mean well.

Just want you to know why it doesn’t always come across as you are intending and what may be more helpful. ❤️
