This whole Diwali firecracker drama made me go against this idea of animal rights.
They are animals, that's it. We should treat them fairly but only in the context of them being animals.
N tbh this seems to kinda have been the norm which changed due to westernisation...

"Uwu, my cute baby. He is so intelligent, I love him so much, I will spend big bucks on him n sleep with him in bed"
- No, he's a dog and clearly not your baby. You spending big bucks on an animal out of love reeks of foolishness.

"Then what about cows? What makes them so special that you consider them your mother and go to such lengths for their welfare?
- Purely my ideology which ensures I respect them n desire their well-being + protection from slaughter. I do NOT however consider them my mother.

Although tbh I recognize this isn't a sustainable argument, forget about a Libbie - even a normie can easily blow this out of the water.
I suppose I should search for Hindu arguments about why we should protect cows (that make logical sense outside of muh ideology)
