It's #AskHerToStand day! 50:50 Parliament are doing amazing work to encourage more women to stand to be an MP - but we know there are even more barriers that young women face in particular.
We do need to #AskHerToStand - but we also need to *support* her to stand. Women on average undertake a disproportionate amount of unpaid home and care work compared to their male colleagues. So no, we might not have every single evening free to deliver Focus.
As it gets dark in the evenings - and to be fair, even when its light! - female candidates may be unsafe going out campaigning on our own.
The Liberal Democrats' way of campaigning can often exclude women. So as you ask women you know to stand for Parliament today, ask yourself how you're going to help them win.
"Politics works best when we have a diverse range of individuals at the table. 50:50 Parliament has done fantastic work in helping to get women selected and elected so if you know a woman who would be a great MP, #AskHerToStand!" - @JaneyisLittle, YL Women's Rep
Are you (or will you be) a young Lib Dem candidate for council, Parliament, or devolved authority? Young Liberals can help you win. Young and Winning is our scheme to support the election campaigns of Young Liberals members - keep an eye out for applications opening.
