At NE Regional Conference, we were demoralised by the position of @KateGreenSU who seemed to show little concern for the safety of our members in schools, demanding schools should be open, no ifs, no buts regardless of the dangers to school staff and the community.

The irony of telling a room of teachers what teachers think seemed lost on her. It was alarming to hear that the Labour Party have shifted to a pro academy position seeing no need for structural change and we wonder when and by what authority this was decided.

We were told what teachers thought by the Shadow Minister, yet she did not seem interested in what the teachers in the room had to say. This was authoritarian and dismissive. We are distraught at the direction of education policy and the lack of regard shown for Trade Unions.
