The #SpyCopsInquiry was originally due to report in 2018. After delays from the Met, it set an 'ambitious' timetable to end Dec 2023. It was > a year behind that before Covid. It's now not expected to look at #SpyCops unit NPOIU (Mark Kennedy etc) until 2024. Final report, 2027? https://twitter.com/tombfowler/status/1329910443251544065
And as Tom says, it won't end there. We've already caught the Inquiry hiding #spycops' own admissions of criminality, as if it's more on the police's side than the police themselves. It's granted anonymity to most spycops, protecting their feelings instead of getting to the truth
But, as previous justice campaigns have shown, each official process yields something worth showing to the world, a piece of the jigsaw that helps to get a fuller picture of the truth in public view. So, at present, we persist with the #SpyCopsInquiry.
