Is it a React developer prerequisite to forget all the cool, free shit the browser does for you?

i'm not even sure why React tries to keep compatibility with HTML and CSS specifications when dev's are just trying so desperately to rewrite it all in their apps

we were given this incredible productivity gift and fucking squandered it with egomaniacal-amnesia — re-writing the same shit we had but worse

i plan to take this gift and make my own button… but with a div

i suppose owed to the *glamour* of being a company with a "design system"*

i blame it on agencies and flashy "pixel-perfect" mockups that knee-capped the simple elegance of native elements

we ask "how hard can it be?" when we should ask "how is this more valuable to customers and our business goals?"
