Bear with me, I’m still processing.

Showing vs telling. I get we were told many lovely things. But we weren’t shown any of it. We were shown pain and death and isolation and separation. That’s what was given the most visual and emotional space. #Supernatural #CarryOn
Sure, Cas is in Heaven with Dean, but we didn’t see it, so I didn’t FEEL it.

Cas rebuilt Heaven, but we got no details, and we didn’t get to experience that victory WITH him.

Cas’ story was not important enough for screen time in this final episode. #Supernatural #CarryOn
I understand COVID & safety. But.

Storytelling is IMPORTANT.
Visuals are IMPORTANT.
Space is IMPORTANT.

Blurry faces, vague references, ignored love declarations.. in a show where so many of us felt SEEN for the first time, it felt like being erased. #Supernatural #CarryOn
Having to do the additional work to go seek out what I thought FINALLY would be reflected on my TV from fandom creatives who do this work for nothing but love is so disheartening. I didn’t want this part of the story to have to be on the fandom this time. #Supernatural #CarryOn
And for the record, this is not me grabbing a pitchfork to storm anyone’s castle. It’s just trying to verbalize and understand hurt so I can try to heal.

Fiction is powerful.

We see ourselves in it.

We process our world through it.

This hurt. And those feelings are valid.
P. S. This is a thread 🧵 but I always forget to put that in the first tweet so hopefully you all can find the stuff in the middle. #Supernatural #CarryOn
Telling vs showing with Dean and Cas was NEVER going to work, bc so much of their deepest communication is nonverbal.

Cas verbalized, and Dean deserved to, too.

But at the VERY VERY LEAST, they needed to speak with their eyes.

Bc that’s what they DO. #Supernatural #CarryOn
(And believe me when I tell you I’m trying to stop being loudly messy about this, but it’s just going to take a bit. I’m trying to heal, friends. I promise. I hope you don’t mind me sharing my process.) #Supernatural #CarryOn
