Friends and enemies, I have two things to ask - wear your damned masks; and if you& #39;re sick, be considerate and stay home.
My father called me in a panic this morning. He said he was really anxious and nervous. I asked what was up?

On Tuesday while he was over my house doing some yard work to distract himself while I was working, he decided to do me another favor and take my car to his mechanic to change out the dead light bulb. It took him longer than usual, almost an hour.
He returned, we talked for a bit on the porch, told me the bulb took longer for some reason. He eventually left. Then he was here Wednesday afternoon, had lunch with friends on Thursday, his brother had stopped by, he came over to the house to hang with the dog and me.
We& #39;ve been pretty zealous about wearing masks when we& #39;re out and about, particularly when at businesses. Well, it turns out his friends at businesses aren& #39;t as considerate.
The mechanic called him this morning. There had been another customer in the small office of the garage.

The other customer had stopped in bc he just had a fender bender. No mask. Coughing up a lung, having trouble breathing, yet going on talking at the people in the office. My dad kept going outside and keep his distance but then had to return into the office.
The mechanic was also not wearing a mask (though another attendant was). The more the guy coughed, the more agitated my dad got and told the mechanic that dude is definitely not well and shouldn& #39;t just be sitting in the office like that. Mechanic ignored my dad.
The attendant was already working on my car so my dad was stuck there. Eventually left, but he had felt uneasy about it. And this morning his concern was confirmed: Mechanic called bc the sick dude& #39;s son called to notify he had been rushed to hospital w/ coronavirus.
So now, my dad who has already lost his wife of 50 years and brother-in-law, is feeling isolated and alone, needs to quarantine for 14 days. He was tested this afternoon so we have to wait (+ I also got tested, although I was told I should be clear).
Missing Thanksgiving with our small bubble is whatever. It& #39;s one of our favorite holidays, but we& #39;ll survive. Well... we hope. His stress and mental health is now my concern. He was masked so I& #39;m hopeful that he was protected. But until we pass the hurdle, his stress is toxic.
And all of this could have been avoided if that sick gentleman had A) been considerate enough to wear a mask to not catch it B) been considerate enough when he was sick to stay home and C) been considerate enough to wear a mask while he was out sick.
Why is it so fucking complicated in this country to be considerate enough to your community and fellow humans to stay the fuck at home if you& #39;re sick and wear your fucking masks? Why are you people like this? Why are you so god damned entitled and selfish?
For the love of yourself - if you can& #39;t think of others -
