I... I think Hades might be game of the year.

I do want to acknowledge Half-Life: Alyx in these GOTY discussions. Of course a lot of people don’t have access to VR which limits it here, but it is a tremendous feat in game design that goes far beyond just utilizing VR as a platform.

Also: Ori and the Will of the Wisps is one of my favourite games of 2020 and I highly recommend you check it out, even if it wasn't nominated for GOTY at TGA (somehow). A fantastic blend of challenging/rewarding gameplay and a heartfelt story with beautiful visuals/music.
