How fat women are shaped informs how people treat us. The more round, the more violent people are towards us. https://twitter.com/ineedja_kadeeja/status/1329805882650193925
I pointed this out before and was met with so much pushback. Thin people do not want to accept how complex and insidious fatphobia is.

There is a such thing as an “acceptable” fat woman. Big women who are more hourglass/pear shaped. Their stomachs are usually flatter.
“Sloppy” is a very loaded word people love to use to describe fat women who are more round, soft, have flatter butts, bigger stomachs, etc.

Yes, fat women in general are treated poorly but if she isn’t shaped in a way that people deem sort of “acceptable,” she is met w violence
And before you bring up how “annoying” Lizzo is.. I can name other certain female celebrities who carry on just as much—if not more—than she does but people do not have all that energy for them like they do Lizzo.
So much of women’s value is placed in our appearance and how we measure up to conventional beauty standards. The more we don’t measure up, the more disposable we are to people. We are handled with less care and empathy simply bc we don’t look a certain way.
So you may find Lizzo “annoying” and “obnoxious” but because we’re conditioned to hate fat people—a lot of you do subconsciously—your annoyance with her is *exacerbated*.

Lizzo and a smaller woman could act the same but bc Lizzo is a fat woman, she gets the brunt of hate.
I get so much pushback whenever I talk about how ppl hate Lizzo because people truly want to believe their disdain for her isn’t informed by fatphobia but it usually is whether you realize it or not.

BC when I ask what’s so insufferable about her, it’s just abt that bball game
It’s literally just “she’s loud,” “she’s corny,” or about how she had her ass out at that basketball game.

None of those things warrant how much ppl pile-on Lizzo.

It’s really just because she’s big, bold, flaunts her body, and not interested in sitting in a corner quietly.
It's really just people wanting to humble her. When you are not considered conventionally attractive, you being proud of yourself makes ppl uncomfortable. It's similar to how ppl do dark skinned women (see: JT)
People HATE when fat women don't hide ourselves. They want us to be out of sight unless we lose weight. That's not an exaggeration either.

Peep how fat women can't even post a SIMPLE ass picture without people losing their shit and going on tangents about "health."
