saying u like to travel is not a personality trait, its a class indicator lol

okay to clarify, im not saying travelling is only possible if youre wealthy but when ppl say “i like to travel” in social settings/dating apps its meant to signal a class status

like yah u can travel locally but in a conversation it goes

“i loveee to travel!”
“cool omg me too, whats ur fave place youve been?”

and there is really just a veiled convo around money here... but instead its about where you have been and how often you go

dudes be like haha it was so spontaneous of me to quit my job and buy a one way ticket to europe ... it is wealth but described as personality

Like yeah I like to travel, I like to meet new people and eat street food and walk thru a foreign museum and sit in a cafe outside of my hometown and be in a new place with no pressing obligations..... who wouldn’t

also black people/nonmen cant enjoy “travel” in a vacuum... lol i have never been allowed or felt safe traveling solo and its funny to me when men talk about their life changing solo adventures galavanting with no plan
