I forgot to mention this on @NassaumenHockey this week: The worst take on the #isles #ReverseRetro jersey is the disappointment & confusion of pundits the team didn't bring back the fisherman after YEARS of putting it on "the worst jerseys of all-time" lists. #NHL
"Why didn't they bring back this thing we said sucked for two decades?" Give me a break.
On top of that, why is it so hard to understand the reverse retro concept? It wasn't to design something new, it wasn't supposed to be a typical jersey. The Sharks and Canes went grey because it's a secondary or tertiary color in their jersey and it's REVERSED.
Don't know why the Jets went with grey and didn't A) Go with a red version of their early 1990s jerseys if only to bring back Selanne or someone (marketing 101) or, B) Make a red version of the jersey they announced with the 70s(?) logo.
A great example, whether you like it or not, was the Senators' jersey. Red was always a tertiary color, so now it's the primary. I have no idea what was going on in Detroit, though they didn't have a ton to work with that they didn't already use for special events/3rds.
Listening to @PuckSoupPodcast this morning and I’m really surprised at the comments on the Blues and Blue Jackets #ReverseRetro jerseys being red. As I’ve said in this thread - the colors are reversed on a retro version of a jersey. That was the idea.
Whether you like it or not is a completely different story, but to sit there and say, “why are they red?” is just —

you. the point. 🚀
I don’t know why I’m so annoyed by this. It just seems like such an easy concept to understand.
