"Of course Rudy is crazy!" has emerged as an acceptable middle ground for elected R& #39;s trying not to criticize Trump, without any acknowledgement about what it implies about the broader operation https://twitter.com/igorbobic/status/1329482641884721152">https://twitter.com/igorbobic...
Example... https://twitter.com/sahilkapur/status/1329132283618615298">https://twitter.com/sahilkapu...
It& #39;s like trying to blink a message to the rest of the world outside of MAGA media that they& #39;re in on the joke. But they& #39;re actively abetting everything going on here whether they want the responsibility that comes with it or not.
It& #39;s impossible to ignore the ridiculousness here, of course. But it& #39;s dead serious to the voters who matter to elected R& #39;s and imagine this taking place in an election with one decisive state in play and full R control of state government. https://twitter.com/JoshNBCNews/status/1329488698098987008">https://twitter.com/JoshNBCNe...
Now the same "But of course, RUDY is crazy!" dynamic happening in the WH. Unless proven otherwise, the default assumption should be to treat these as individual pleas to still be taken seriously outside MAGA world post-Trump. https://twitter.com/maggieNYT/status/1329491331501191169">https://twitter.com/maggieNYT...
Most extreme case yet of the “Well obviously RUDY is nuts!” gambit. This is the president’s chosen team working on his behalf with the national party to overthrow an election, not some rando freelancing. https://twitter.com/oliverdarcy/status/1329595108078063619">https://twitter.com/oliverdar...
This is the actual story they’re going with to throw out entire cities worth of votes, it’s not “Rudy being Rudy!” no matter how embarrassing that is to some of the presidents allies. The RNC is quite proud of his team’s work, that’s why they’re actively promoting it today.
