okay but what if bkg temporarily lost his voice because of a quirk and the whole class is unnerved because bkg is usually the loudest person in the room. no one really knows how to talk to him when he can't respond, and finds it awkward to hang around him.

it's unintentional, but eventually they stop trying to include him in conversations because it's just easier that way.

the only person seemingly unfazed by this development is deku. when deku talks to bkg, it's like he never lost his voice.

the class will watch, mystified, as deku talks and then pauses to look at bkg before laughing, nodding, or responding. all bkg has to do is roll his eyes, or lift an eyebrow, or scowl for deku to know *exactly* what he's trying to say.

eventually everyone clues in to this and deku becomes bkg's official translator.

whenever someone wants to ask bkg a question, bkg will listen and then turn to deku and give him a look, which deku will then translate:

"kacchan says that he doesn't like sunflower seeds" and when deku stops the answer there bkg will glare at him until he sheepishly adds "... and he thinks you're an idiot."
