A friendly reminder: Pls don't wait to buy the 1st book in a series until the series in complete, because often the author doesn't get to write the 2nd book unless the 1st sells. :) Also, if the 1st one doesn't sell, it impacts in-house support, marketing budget, etc. Yup.

There are so many things happening behind the scenes in publishing at any given time, and it's definitely NOT on the reader to grok that, but trust that authors definitely want to give you All The Books, as soon as we can. But, alas, that's not our call. Publishing is hard.

Gently, Dear Readers, this is not an invitation to bash GRRM. I'm waiting for ASOIAF, too. But I also know what immense pressure he must be under to write, and while publishing is a biz, writing is an art. I wish the muse was so accommodating.
