So I'm slowly replaying OG FF7 & I'll be adding to this thread of things I noticed that are different, mainly focusing on Cloti: First up, this new scene in FF7R where Jessie asks Cloud about his relationship with Tifa, his flashback of baby Tifa, & him about to answer

In the OG when they get off the train, Barret gives a short speech & tells everyone to meet back at Seventh Heaven, then immediately takes off. In FF7R, Barret turns to Cloud & specifically mentions Tifa & to not keep her waiting. HE KNOWS SOMETHING IS UP BETWEEN THEM Y'ALL

In the OG, once back at the Seventh Heaven, shots could be heard & Barret is the one chasing customers out of the bar with Tifa bowing to apologize. In FF7R, we know from the NPCs that Tifa closed the bar early for them & is seen waiting on the front steps.

In OG, Tifa assumes the flower is for her and there is the option to give the flower to either Tifa or Marlene. In FF7R, Tifa only asks where Cloud got the flower and it's non-optional that Cloud gives Tifa the flower.

In OG, Tifa's reaction to getting the flower is to thank him and say she wants to decorate Seventh Heaven with flowers. In FF7R, they allude to Cloud's memory issues by having Tifa ask when he got so thoughtful, Cloud responding it's been 5 years, & Tifa being confused

In OG, Cloud takes a drink immediately & is a bit of a SOLDIER-idgaf-give me my money-d1ck to Tifa & she notices something is off with him. In FF7R, he drinks the next day & they replaced that whole scene with Cloud calling Tifa 'beautiful' and these two flirting like get a room

In OG, Cloud forgets their promise & Tifa is the one who reminds him. In FF7R, Cloud remembers the promise on his own & he's the one who actually reminds Tifa

This FF7R scene in Cloud's room is new, as well as new character Marle, who tells Cloud to listen to Tifa. He does this & Tifa notices, calling him out for "losing his hard edge" & then we get the famous tension filled scene between the 2 & Cloud whispering "Goodnight Tifa."

Another new scene from FF7R, when Cloud wants his money but Tifa confesses they don't have enough. When he sees the distress on her face, he softens up & tells her that he won't charge extra to help her make money to repay him. HE'S SO UWU WITH HER HELP

In OG, Cloud crashes at the Hideout, downstairs of Seventh Heaven. In FF7R, Tifa gets Marle to give him his own room, rent free. GET YOU A GIRL LIKE TIFA BAE OMG

In OG, Cloud runs into Johnny who is leaving & the NPCs say they were watching him & Tifa, teasing him about being her childhood friend. In FF7R, Cloti rescues Johnny & Tifa noticing there's something different & scary about Cloud's behavior after he tries to murd3r everyone

The majority of Chp 3 & 4 from FF7R are new & there's WAY too many new Cloti content that it would take forever for me to go through if I tweet them separately, so here's a collage of Cloud pouting, being jealous, teasing Tifa about her life lessons, & being sweet af towards her

In FF7R, there's a new scene where Tifa talks to Cloud alone and asks him to go check on Barret. Cloud brushes it off, saying Barret will be fine but Tifa insists and then Cloud relents. THE WAY HE POUTS AND GOES "FINEEE~" THO??? He can never say no to Tifa dkslajfa;;

In OG, Tifa jumps from the train first, followed by Cloud then Barret. In FF7R, we get an extended cutscene where Tifa saves bystanders, then THE FAMOUS CLOTI CORKSCREW HUG If you let the timer run out, you won't get this cutscene but only l0sers miss this cutscene so-

In FF7R, we get this new scene of Cloud & Barret bickering then Cloud & Tifa going off into their own world, discussing plans and Cloud f̶l̶i̶r̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ complimenting Tifa, with Barret third wheeling it

In OG at reactor 5,Cloud has only 1 flashback of young Tifa finding her dad d3ad. In FF7R Cloud has 2 flashbacks: that one & another one before the Airbuster, where we hear a DIFFERENT Cloud's voice talk, subtitles italicized, indicating it is Real!Cloud talking not SOLDIER!Cloud

In OG, before Cloud falls from reactor 5, Tifa alludes to her feelings for Cloud. In FF7R, this was omitted and instead we get Tifa trying to reach for Cloud & fighting against Barret when he forcibly carries her away.

In both the OG & FF7R, Cloud falls into the Lifestream(?). In OG, it's just the disembodied voice of Real!Cloud but in FF7R we see another figure that looks exactly like Cloud approaching him. In both, they reference the "scraped knees" Cloud got when he & Tifa fell in Nibelheim

In OG Cloud says he wants to go back to Tifa's bar & Aerith questions him who T is, getting jealous if you say T is your gf. In FF7R C has a flashback of T & says her name, which A then asks who T is & points out T is special to C, then C says he doesn't know how to explain.

In OG, Wall Market is way shorter, the side quests to gather materials are done with A in your party. Cloud really doesn't want to dress as a woman but he's reminded throughout that he's doing all this for Tifa. In FF7R he does the quests with Johnny & is also reminded by A too.

Anyways back to replaying the OG, forgot to add that Aerith is the one who chases after Tifa in the chocobo cart while Cloud follows after. In FF7R C is the one who notices T & chases after her. There's also a new scene of T & C having a convo before T leaves to Don Corneo's

Back at Don Corneo's mansion, there is a new cutscene in FF7R where Cloud wakes up to Tifa & Tifa doesn't recognize Cloud, when she does she's shocked & Cloud is visibly flustered and embarrassed.

In OG, Tifa & Aerith have a short intro where A reveals she was the one T saw at the playground with Cloud. A assumes T was thinking something was up and assures her they just met so nothing happened, T counters that Cloud is just a childhood friend. This convo was cut from FF7R.

In OG, who Don Corneo chooses as his 'bride' depends on how well Cloud dresses. In FF7R, by default Corneo initially was about to choose Tifa until Cloud distracted him and Corneo chose him instead.

In OG, there's a non-optional moment when they confront Don Corneo & Tifa turns to Cloud, asking him specifically to come with her back to Sector 7 slums to rescue everyone. In FF7R, this scene was moved to the sewers, where if you choose Tifa first, she references that OG scene

In OG, the sewers scene was short af & barely had any character interactions. In FF7R, there were numerous new Cloti scenes, like Cloud flirting with Tifa over her "lessons" at the most inappropriate timing, wanting to go with her to fix the pump, & fighting the enemies together.

Likewise, in OG the train graveyard scene was short af & barely had any character interactions. In FF7R, there were again numerous new Cloti scenes like Cloud saving Tifa from ghosties, being sweet & supportive af when she was clearly worried/distressed by news of the pillar

In OG, Tifa is already in your party by default as you climb up the pillar. In FF7R, Tifa is on the ground and worried for Cloud/Avalanche up on the pillar & as she tells Aerith/Wedge she needs to go, Aerith tells her to "follow your heart."

In OG, we don't see Aerith when she goes looking for Marlene. In FF7R, we see Aerith finding Marlene, then Marlene showing Aerith the flower she gave Cloud, which Cloud then gave to Tifa that she decorated the bar with; Aerith then sports a knowing look on her face.

In OG, the pillar scene barely had anything. In FF7R, there is a TON of new Cloti scenes like the famous hand catch, Cloud feeling helpless to comfort a crying Tifa, T running into C's arms, C holding T in his arms again when she was hurt, C holding T's hand & running to safety

In OG, C is sitting far from T when she wakes up & they find B immediately before going to A's house. In FF7R, C watches T right next to her, she wakes up to him, they find B, & C watches B consoling T - which was explained as C wanting to comfort T like an proper adult as well.

In OG, when back at A's house, C goes upstairs alone & finds B with Marlene. M then tells him how A asked questions about him, hinting A likes him. In FF7R, as discussed in prev tweets, A never asks M about C, & instead C & T together watch B with M while out in the hallway.

In OG, while breaking into Shinra to rescue Aerith, the crew gets caught and thrown into jail cells. Cloud and Aerith have a convo where she reminds him of their "date" and Tifa overhears. This entire jail scene was REMOVED from FF7R.

Forgot to add these before that last tweet: in FF7R before they rescue Aerith, there's an entire new section where C,T, & B go back to the rubbles of Seventh Heaven. Cloud saves Tifa from being crushed by falling debris.

In FF7R there are new resolutions added that vary depending on the side quests you did. If you get T's, it continues off the previous scene where C saw B consoling T - now T crying over losing her home & friends then C overcoming his emotional awkwardness by hugging her tightly

Again in FF7R, if you instead get the new Barret resolution, B mentions to C about a guy named Al who tried hitting on T with flowers. C was staring off into space until he heard this & whipped his head around as soon as he heard about Al then relaxed when B said T rejected Al

Nothing much to add here except in FF7R there's this new little scene of Cloti giving Barret personal space to talk to Marlene before they leave

Going backwards, forgot to add that this scene is also new and exclusive the FF7R: a new character named Chocobo Sam teases Cloud about his crush on Tifa when Cloud asks him for more info on where Tifa was

Again another new scene in FF7R: after fighting at the coliseum, Cloud runs into Chocobo Sam again & Sam gives him money, which Cloud says he's "not here for the cash" & wants to know about Tifa. He teases Cloud about how sexy Tifa is & Cloud becomes angry and threatens Sam

While at Wall Market: new scenes to FF7R of Johnny teasing Cloud about wanting to stay at the inn with Tifa & Johnny frantically running to find Cloud to save Tifa, saying he's glad that Cloud is watching out for her

More new scenes to FF7R: while at Wall Market, there is a singer called AKILA, whose song called Midgar Blues perfectly describes Cloud's POV recalling the night he made the promise to Tifa back in Nibelheim before leaving to Midgar He is also president of Cloud's fanclub.

New to FF7R: after the plate falls, you can talk to Andrea, who asks Cloud if he found what he was looking for, referring to Chp 9 when C was looking for Tifa. In JP he uses "taisetsu" meaning "someone/thing important" & C answers yes, then Andrea says "never let it go again"

In OG, C/T/B climb up a wire to enter Shinra building. In FF7R, there's a ton of new scenes: some gratuitous touching, saving her from Abzu, allusions to the Life stream event, Cloud saving Tifa when the platform collapses, & Cloud agreeing to help Tifa rebuild her bar

In OG, if you take the stairs there's some banter back & forth between all 3 characters. In FF7R, there's a new part where T tells off C & B for bickering & Cloud pouts "BUT TIFA-" to her

In OG, once inside the Shinra building there's various puzzles. In FF7R, some of the OG puzzles were removed & instead there's new ones like Tifa swinging from the lamps, where Cloud could be seen in the background following her worriedly on the second floor

In FF7R, they replaced the jail scene with Aerith's room at Shinra building, where after Cloud faints after having visions of Jenova, the first person he wakes up to yet again is Tifa

New to FF7R, as the crew make their escape to the rooftop they come across Jenova & Cloud has yet ANOTHER flashback of young Tifa in Nibelheim before they confronted Sephiroth. Later, they get separated & come back to this same area & the two have a moment in the elevator

New to FF7R, in the JP version when the crew gets split & Cloud finds Red XIII, he asks him "Where's Tifa & the others." When they're split into two groups, Cloud is the leader of his side and Tifa is the leader of her side, the two communicating w/ each other through the phones

New to FF7R, Tifa is aware that there's something off with Cloud and despite all the peanut brains villainizing her, she is very much worried for Cloud. They make it a point to have Aerith imply that Tifa herself is not doing so well and needs some help/comfort too

In OG, when Cloud tells the group to take off first, Aerith stops & mentions Cloud & Tifa volunteers to stay back for him. In FF7R, Tifa lingers behind when Cloud tells them to leave, giving him an unreadable look & the two share a little moment before she seemingly leaves

In OG after Cloud defeats Rufus he goes back inside where Tifa is waiting for him. In FF7R C is about to fall to his d3ath & T, who stayed behind, saves him last second. This was explained by Kitase as intentionally paralleling Ch. 6 where Tifa couldn't save Cloud from falling

New to FF7R, Red asks whether C & T will be okay fighting Rufus by themselves & Barret reassures that they'll be fine, where he was about to expand on CT by saying, "Besides-" before getting interrupted. Maybe a throwback to Barret 3rd wheeling CT in a prior elevator moment

New and improved graphics on Cloti saving the crew at Shinra

New to FF7R, the group was split again & just as Tifa was about to be attacked, Cloud jumps in front of her right on time to block the Harbinger from hurting her

New to FF7R during Cloud's fight with Sephiroth, another party member can join him depending on points earned for that character's moves used during the fight against Harbinger. Tifa was the one chosen to join first in the official book, A Walk Through Midgar (ss - @emmie_h1234)

JUST KIDDING FORGOT TO ADD THESE LMAO: also new to FF7R, Marle addresses Cloud alone, before he meets with Tifa in her apartment, on being a good friend and listening to Tifa, which Cloud seems to take seriously and to heart later on

New to FF7R: when Cloud meets Tifa in her apartment, named 'Alone At Last', the 2 have a very intimate moment with Cloud talking about what has been up to. Then Tifa suggests they go on a date that night, insisting Cloud wears something to match her & he happily agrees

OKAY that's actually the end of this thread for FF7R part 1. I knew a lot of changes were made to Cloti in the remake compared to the OG but I never really realized the sheer extent of it If you still have any doubts about the direction of the LTD in FF7R, look no further
