I’ve been thinking a lot (for years) about the value of operational creativity. We talk about institution building, but we act like we can go to the institutional brick store and get supplies.

For mission-based orgs, it’s not so simple. There is no playbook.
This applies to communities working to operationalise ethics in technology production as well. Without strength in operational creativity, all we learn how to do is talk about principles and we keep them compartmentalised from practice.
I would love to see examples of operational creativity in action and find out who my fellow travellers are. What are your fave examples of creative operational practices that align with mission (HR, finance, project management, partnership engagement...)? Yours or others...
Either reply, or drop me a line. And please don't be shy about sharing -- operational creativity is hard, undervalued, and we are disincentivized to talk about it. I think it's awesome. Let's start operationalising our values as we build the institutions of the future.
All of these things are about more than walking a walk. It's about charting a new path and showing the direct connection between what we do and how we do it.

So...whatcha got?
