Here's my take on what's happening with Trump and the election and what will happen from here.

Short version: It will work itself out shortly.

1/
Yes, Trump should've conceded. Yes, there is no way enough votes will be invalidated to overturn all of the states necessary for him to win. Yes, we should expect him to act like this. This is what he does.

2/
We've seen three types of GOP response so far. One group is saying there's fraud and the election is being stolen. But this group is going to shrink soon. Not to zero. But it will shrink.

3/
The second group knows Trump has lost and that this will be the final outcome. They are congratulating Biden and preparing for the future. This group will grow. But it will take some time.

4/
The third group is in between the two, saying some version of, "The president's campaign has a right to go to court if there is evidence of malfeasance."

5/
So, there will be lawsuits. A bunch of GOP leaders are simply reasoning, I suspect, that courts will resolve this, and that is how this process will be finalized. "No need to make declarations," they are probably thinking, "the president won't be moved by such statements."

6/
So, one by one, courts will hear the claims and check the evidence. If the evidence is compelling, they will side with the president's campaign and act accordingly.

But if there is no evidence, they will say so. And that will be the beginning of the end.

7/
Once GOP leaders see the vote count in all key states is stable (after recounts and court challenges) and Biden has won, we'll see most elected GOP officials congratulate Biden and move on.

The court decisions will give them the political cover and peace of mind needed.

8/
A few will still say the election was stolen. But there are always supporters of some losing candidates (Republican and Democrat!) who refuse to admit defeat. But as court decisions roll in and Biden continues his transition work, the world will acclimate to the new reality.

9/
Most GOP leaders who are slow-playing this realize time helps that process of transferring power. Citizens are shifting to a post-Trump mindset. Citizens are moving beyond the election. Public opinion and court decisions will do the work necessary to bring this to a close.

10/11
In short: Trust the process, stay calm, carry on, time and tide wait for no man.
