This is the first indication as to how well the Pfizer/BioNTech works and its HUGELY encouraging, but think of this as the 'predicted grades' rather than the final results. Important the trial continues so we get full safety data on this vaccine. 2/5

Likely to be a strong case for 'emergency use' with healthcare workers. Don't all form a queue at the pharmacy just yet as there is a global need and if authorised, only so many doses yet. 3/5

As with any trial data it's vital that it is published openly. There'll be a lot more in the detail of the findings that policy makers need to know and to inform the development of other vaccines which we will still need. 4/5

It's GREAT news but not the finish line. We will need to double down on efforts to ensure other vaccines and crucially treatments get over the line. And that they reach all who need them globally. 5/5/
