As #SpyCops officer Andy Coles has just been mentioned at the #SpyCopsInquiry, here's a quick overview of who he is. He was a Special Demonstration Squad officer in 1990s, using the name 'Andy Davey', infiltrating peace & animal rights campaigns. Here he is undercover in 1991
Whilst undercover, Coles was a renowned sex pest. As well as harassing women he spied on, he groomed a vulnerable teenager, known as Jessica @Jessica_me2, into a year-long relationship. He was her first serious partner.
Jessica @Jessica_me2 thought Andy Coles was 24 & a single activist, whereas he was a 34 year old married #SpyCops officer. Here he is (2nd from left) on a march to the US airbase at Fairford, Gloucestershire, on 16 March 1991

After his undercover deployment ended in 1995, Coles updated the #SpyCops Tradecraft Manual. Andy Coles went on to management of #SpyCops. He trained the first officers in a new unit, the National Public Order Intelligence Unit, in 1999, & afterwards became Head of Training for its oversight body ACPO-TAM.
When he left the police, Andy Coles built a life for himself as a public figure in #Peterborough. He became a school governor, Tory member of the City Council, & Cambridgeshire's Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner.

As a supposed pillar of the community in #Peterborough, Andy Coles promoted the Children's Society's 'Seriously Awkward' campaign that sought to protect young adults from sexual abuse by older men, something he himself is a perpetrator of.

Having told Tory colleagues & the press that he's completely innocent, to admit the truth would not only speak of what he did to Jessica in the 90s, but it would confirm he has lied to his peers in the present. Backed into a corner, his lies escalate with each new fact revealed
Andy Coles abused his #SpyCops role to sexually abuse women. He compounds his damage by persisting in public life & denying the harm he has caused. His is an abuser & a liar, utterly unfit for public office.
