جز تو مارا منزلی نیست
(ہماری منزل آپﷺ کے سوا کچھ نہیں)

Whenever there was discussion about the Prophet, Iqbal was deeply touched and tears would flow inexorably. Ishq e Mustafa was the raison d'être of his poetry.

Iqbal writes:

در دل مسلم مقام مصطفی استد
آبروی ما ز نام مصطفی است

مصطفی (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) کا مقام مسلمان کے دل میں ہے۔
ہماری عزت اور آبرو مصطفی کے نام مبارک سے ہے۔

In the Muslim’s heart is the home of Muhammad,
All our glory is from the name of Muhammad.

In Payam-i M’ashriq which was first published in 1923, Iqbal explains writes on the love of Prophet:

“He who cherishes love of Mustafa,
controls everything in the seas and lands.
It is love for him that gives life
and prosperity in the universe to Community”

Only a few days before his death, Iqbal wrote:

تو غنی از ہر دو عالم من فقیر
روز محشر عذر ہائے من پذیر

You (God) are the self sufficient (un-wanting) and independent from both the worlds and I am a miserable Faqeer.
On day of judgement please accept my excuse and forgive me

ورحسابم را تو بینی نا گز
از نگاہ مصطفے پنہاں بگیر

If you must open my record and it is inevitable (unavoidable)
Please keep it hidden from my beloved Prophet Mustafa (PBUH)

Someone asked Allama Iqbal, how did you become Hakeem ul Ummat (the Sage of Ummah)?
Iqbal replied, “It's a very simple technique; by reciting millions of times the darood shareef on Prophet Muhammad PBUH”

قُوّتِ عشق سے ہر پست کو بالا کر دے
دہر میں اسمِ محمّدؐ سے اُجالا کر دے

وہ دانائے سبل ، ختم الرسل ، مولائے کل جس نے
غبار راہ کو بخشا فروغ وادی سينا

نگاہِ عشق و مستی میں وہی اوّل وہی
آخر
وہی قرآں وہی فرقاں وہی یٰسیں وہی طہٰ

سنائی کے ادب سے ميں نے غواصی نہ کی ورنہ
ابھی اس بحر ميں باقی ہيں لاکھوں لولوئے لالا

The love of Prophet was the cornerstone of Iqbal's poetry.

بمصطفیٰ ؐ برساں خویش را کہ دیں ہمہ اوست
اگر باو نرسیدی تمام بو لہبی است

ترجمہ:حضورِ اکرم ﷺ کی ذات تک خود کو پہنچادو [تاکہ مسلمان بن سکو۔۔۔کیوں کہ]اگر تم ان تک نہیں پہنچ سکے تو سمجھ لو کہ باقی دنیا میں تو صرف کفر ہی ہے

لوح بھی تو ، قلم بھی تو ، تيرا وجود الکتاب
گنبد آبگينہ رنگ تيرے محيط ميں حباب

عالم آب و خاک ميں تيرے ظہور سے فروغ
ذرہ ريگ کو ديا تو نے طلوع آفتاب

شوق ترا اگر نہ ہو ميری نماز کا امام
ميرا قيام بھی حجاب ، ميرا سجود بھی
حجاب
