since i& #39;ve been talking abt ccs again after a while i feel the need to warn ppl who haven& #39;t seen it and maybe r interested in watching it... i feel like it& #39;s irresponsible not to:
tw: adult/minor relationships(multiple), grooming, student/teacher relationships, p*dophilia (canon in the manga, implied in the anime)
incest: (one sided crush btwn cousins)
i truly think ccs& #39;s portrayal of gay/bi people, while nice if u look at them in isolation, should not be praised w/o acknowledging the series& #39; problems...bc when you look at the portrayals as a whole, u see that... while ccs normalizes + positively portrays gay love & yearning,
it does the same thing w/ large age gap & p*dophilic relationships, and does so even more vigorously and explicitly. Clamp& #39;s message seems to be normalizing what they view as "forbidden love", but in doing so they r essentially equating gay love w pedophilia & incest, which is
still a harmful message... and it certainly felt hurtful to me as an lgbt when i found out.

Having said that,
I& #39;m not saying ccs isnt worth watching, and I do love the canon gay couple(touyuki) a lot. I just think its irresponsible not to warn ppl! which is what im doing rn !
I was able to watch ccs 1998 and enjoy some aspects of it a lot, like touyuki and the animation + overall aesthetic, while not enjoying or attempting to justify other aspects of it..(i also had to take a break for some time after i found out)
For some this may be too much.. and
skipping it may be the better choice.. Either way, watching it or not, its your choice!!! I just dont want you go go in not knowing like I did and be sickened and shocked when finding outhttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤕" title="Gesicht mit Kopfbandage" aria-label="Emoji: Gesicht mit Kopfbandage">
final note: if u come into my mentions trying to justify shit like the last time i tried to make this thread im blocking u <3
i tried to make this concise but that never ends up happening lmfao
