We are all biased. Each and every one of us. Biased based on experience, information, beliefs, faith or lack of it, comfort, perception, treats and fear. Each of us! And to the others we believe that our stand is the right one, we rarely look at the reasons for our/their views.

Let's talk about Trump and his rhetorics. We like or dislike Trump because of our biases. We might not agree on a lot of things but we cannot refuse to acknowledge that these last 4years have pushed most people to be openly biased on either side. And strongly so.

Hate and love seemed like the same thing depending on which side of his support you were on! And you had strong conviction of your perception as factual, but was it? It was subjective lenses, that played to your fears, treats and beliefs. There is nothing is wrong with that.

Trump is not a middle ground man. We don't have doubt where he stood on issues to do with race, ideologies, religious view, biz et al. We all know! They say better the devil u know that the evil u don't. For that, I respect Trump. We dis/agreed on most of them but we knew them.

Just like those of us who opposed his view, there are those who loved and strongly believed in them. To us, this win might be a celebration but to his supporters it is painful. The same pain we felt when Hillary lost and for 4 years of his tenure. We have been where they are now.

Expecting them to be quiet, magically support the other side, be rational, objective or understanding, is unfair. They don't think they are biased, just like we didn't. They; like us, believe theirs is the right way and we are wrong. Please be accommodating and kind to them.

We can be more understanding of their pain coz we have been there. We know that time might change their view or increase their biases. And while we will disagree, let's at least respectfully do so. Let's try to listen to either side regardless of our perceptions. Just listen.
