We keep putting out this rhetoric of Black women saving the day. Because the truth is they always do. But that’s not their job! They shouldn’t have to. They didn’t show up to help fix white peoples problems they created for themselves. They showed up the way they always do.

I feel like Black women deserve a lot of credit and I love seeing them get the recognition they deserve. But I fear that we are putting this pressure on them they never asked for and don’t deserve. Am I wrong in this feeling? I’m thinking out loud. I just think it must be

Exhausting to have a whole country count on you to come in and clean up their mistakes. I would love to hear some Black women chime in and tell me their thoughts on this. Maybe I’m off. Idk some of the rhetoric rubs me the wrong way.
