to think that kamala harris will be the first south asian vp, and likely the first south asian president.

it never occurred to me to even think about the possibility that someone who looks like me could become president before joe biden picked her as a running mate.
after all, there are only about 5 million south asians in america — just 1.5% of the population.

the first south asian representative and senator @RepJayapal & @KamalaHarris were elected in 2016.

the thought that a south asian could one day be president never crossed my mind.
i have said this before — representation is not everything. it should never be the reason you vote for or against someone. but it is incredibly important. i look forward to seeing kamala harris as vice president and, hopefully, president.
