It is massively important that #FearTWD is addressing the trauma of Dwight & Sherry that Negan caused them. Regardless of how he may have changed as a person over the years, they will always be victims of his and their trauma is real.

Dwight & Sherry should never be expected for forgive Negan for the trauma he inflicted upon them. That is something they must work through. The same goes for Daryl, Maggie, and everyone else. What Negan did is not just something people “get over”.

We can love and enjoy the character of Negan. He is fictional. That being said, it is still important to discuss what he did...and acknowledge that not everyone may be comfortable with him.

One of my major criticisms of Angela Kang’s tenure as showrunner has been the brushing aside of that trauma for the sake of making Negan “likable” and a member of the group/tolerable to the other characters. He can have a redemption arc without wiping away the past.

I myself am a fan of Negan’s story. I just fully believe that all aspects of his character (and all the characters) are open to hard discussion.
