Here’s the thing about all these calls for kindness/empathy for Cult45ers: y’all voted to keep your boots on our necks, to keep poor people, queer people, and PoC oppressed, to deny climate science, for fascism & state sanctioned violence, for kids in cages, for no COVID relief.

We voted to save the environment, to fix our racially biased criminal justice system, for DREAMers, for trans lives, for Black lives, for KINDNESS, to end this pandemic, and to start working toward fair and equitable living conditions for all Americans. We are not the same.

Again, there’s this false equivalency when viewing “both sides.” You expect us to accept your racism, your Fuck your Feelings T-shirts and your domestic white terrorism in the same way we expect you to allow us to express our gender and marry who we love. But we are not the same.

You think your freedom is violated when your governor orders you to wear a mask to stop the spread of a deadly disease. Our freedom is violated when cops murder us with impunity. So you see we are not the same. We won’t see eye to eye because you don’t think we deserve to exist.

But once you learn to see us as human, when you finally see that the ones victimizing us are victimizing you too, just doing so while distracting you with the red meat of white supremacist delusion, when you stop basing your identity on your ability to oppress others, then maybe

... MAYBE we can begin a conversation about how we can ALL get what we need from our government and from each other. But until then, know that we can only see you as a fool who voted to keep the worst president in our history because you revered his racism. We are not the same.

So until then, fuck your feelings.
