What these dumb dumbs are hoping is that you’ll be naive to believe they can somehow magically get away with just not signing off on the transition. If they’ve got you scared of an imaginary threat, they can use it as leverage to get concessions in return...

The first rule in defeating Trump and his henchmen has always been to stop naively falling for the things they threaten to do that are literally impossible. Being gullible isn’t the same as being vigilant. When you fall for impossible threats, you hand the bad guys leverage.

Of course all the “look at me” pundits always insist that Trump and his henchmen will in fact magically do the literally impossible things that they’re threatening to do. So it’s understandable why you’re tempted to fall for it. These pundits do real harm while seeking attention.

Will the transition be smooth or successful? Of course not. Trump has already hollowed out the executive branch. On some level there is no government to transition. It’ll be a MESS. But no one in the Trump regime has a magic wand when it comes to doomsday evil. They just don’t.

The kid who has been evicted from the playground has lost all his leverage. He doesn’t suddenly gain leverage because he threatens to throw the ball over the fence. That just ensures the worst possible outcome for him. We still have the playground and we can get a new ball.
