how aizawa& #39;s hair and scarf floats when his quirk activates : a scientific thread ! https://twitter.com/whoizsky/status/1325611992158187520">https://twitter.com/whoizsky/...
possibility two : keep reading !
first a disclaimer:
most of the information i& #39;m getting on quirks comes from the bnha wiki. if something is inaccurate, i apologize ! https://bokunoheroacademia.fandom.com/wiki/My_Hero_Academia/">https://bokunoheroacademia.fandom.com/wiki/My_H...

it& #39;s theorized that quirks are caused by a virus which is said to have been spread by mice, but after that it& #39;s hereditary.
it& #39;s safe to assume that whatever virus this is has altered the human body in a physical level , which honestly is rather obvious looking at most quirks.

moving on, the quirk that we& #39;re looking at now is the one used by shota aizawa, the homeroom teacher for class 1-A.
the quirk being active is what activates his hair and scarf to float. i& #39;m going to assume he wasn& #39;t born with the scarf and instead had it modified to work with his quirk.
there are only two feasible answers i can think of, to be honest. this is a hard question help
1. you know how when you get goosebumps, the hair on your skin also stands up? it& #39;s possible that his quirk can also control his hair follicles. maybe it directs the follicles up and back, or hardens his hair so it& #39;s pointed as it is.
2. some sort of weird magnetism.
this is an incredibly theoretical one that plays with the fact that in bnha, it& #39;s a world that doesn& #39;t quite follow the chemistry of our own .
following that, for his scarf, it could be that when his quirk is activated, there& #39;s +

a magnetic field that reacts solely with whatever material his scarf is made of. theoretically , an enemy could take advantage of this to a scary level , but i& #39;m going to go out on a limb and say that horikoshi didn& #39;t think abt any of this.
going on ....
if the scarf is a material that maybe operates on a frequency that resonates only with itself, it& #39;s possible that that& #39;s how it works? but i& #39;m not sure how it wouldn& #39;t be activated all the time, then ....
which brings me to #3 i guess
idk why im making this thread i really don& #39;t think anyone is going to read this. if you& #39;re still here have a cute midoriya, i love you
ok 3
this sort of circulates around how erasure itself would work. it& #39;s possible that maybe aizawa emits a frequency that cancels out the quirks, and that& #39;s how it works. id have to go more in depth, but assume that i& #39;ve somehow proved that quirks operate on the same frequency.

if the scarf is made out of a material that also reacts to this frequency, then maybe that& #39;s how it floats. it& #39;s also maybe possible that his hair has been threaded with those materials, or vice versa - they got the material from his hair and threaded the scarf with it
in conclusion i have no idea what the fuck im saying but aizawa is fuckin cool, check out my other science nerd threads
