Katsuki was holding Eijirous jaw firmly in one hand, kissing him on the cheek while flipping off the camera as Eijirou smiled broadly.
The caption red "Brokeback Mountain who?! Last day before we head home!"

Eijirou stared for a moment, attempting to remember what Katsuki’s hands felt like on his body.
They hadnt always been miserable.
Katsuki was like a kid in the candy store when they were hiking that day.

Eijirou distinctly remembered the euphoria of getting to watch the man he loved so much be completely in his element.
They looked like a true pair in this photo,

two halves of the same soul that complimented each other in both their strengths and weaknesses.
With a sigh Eijirou scrolled to the next picture from that trip.

They were sitting outside, beers in front of them.

Katsuki was wearing thick rimmed sunglesses and a V neck, Eijirou was sporting a Hawaiian shirt with a complimentary head band.
Katsuki looked slightly off put, and Eijirou was clearly laughing
The caption read "He hates hopps, but I love him."
He sat up, dragging a hand down his face.

Why couldn't he just let these posts stay archived?
Why, after his job offer, had all these feelings resurfaced?

Even before he'd heard Katsuki's tirade, the urge to speak to the other man haunted him.
What was he supposed to do? Just text him?
Was it that simple? The logical part of his brain screamed yes, but-
What would he even say?
As Eijirou continued to scroll through the photos, the lump in his throat grew.
Missing his flight was beginning to feel like a second chance.
This was so stupid. This was such a bad idea. This was 100% going to backfire.
But he had to try, right?
The image of Katsukis face from the bar flashed in his brain
He looked so-

Scared? Caught off guard, over whelmed?
Eijirou bit his lip as a serge of emotion zapped him between the eyes.
Was he mad at Katsuki? Yes.

He was mad at Katsuki for pushing him away and for purposefully being cruel.
Eijirou opened his texts, staring at the blinking cursor of the empty message template
But his desperation to clear the air to have a proper fresh start far out weighed anything else he was feeling at that moment.
He stared down the blank message for a moment longer befoee his fingers began to move
'Hey, Katsuki, it's Eijirou. I know you talked to Tetsu'
Wait- should he tell him that?

Eijirou panicked and retyped the message
'Hey, it's Eijirou. Can we talk?'
Was that too simple?
He got up and began to pace the room
Eijirous fingers began to shake, as his brain finally landed on one thought
'I miss you.'
It was desperate, it was lame, it was weird despite everything that had gone down

But it was the truth.
With frayed nerves, Eijirou went to his 'blocked contacts' list

And unblocked the only number there.
The message sat there for a moment longer, staring him down, daring him to hit the send button
Eijirou closed his eyes, and the image of them together on the mountain came into full focus.
This was just Katsuki- someone he used to know like the back of his hand.
Someone he used to trust unconditionally
Someone he used to love
-and probably still did.
So Eijirou held his breath
And hit send.
*************
"Katsuki..." Eijirou looked at his feet "We need to talk."
The ring in his hand gleamed softly in the fire light
"Just say yes, and then we can talk about /whatever/ you want." Katsuki retorted, his free hand moving to tangle with Eijirou's
Eijirou pulled his hand back

"That's... what I mean. We need to talk about this."
The playful smile quickly fell from from Katsuki's face.
"What- you chickening out on me?" He half teased, offering the ring towards Eijirou once more.
This is what Eijirou wanted, right?

This is how he was going to fix it, fix them.
The red head didn't answer and pulled back slightly.
/Oh./
"Well this is awkward as fuck." Katsuki wavered, clutching the ring tight in his fist
"Wait, babe. Just, wait- please for /once/." Eijirou pleaded
Bakugou yanked back, instinctively clutching his fist with the ring to his chest

"God dammit, I knew this was a bad idea."
