...hurting others. It's about protecting ourselves and others. We aren't out to cage conservatives or take govt assistance away from poor white Trumpers.

Our kindness is that we want for them what we want for us, and we shouldn't be expected to go any further than that.

I do, however, believe it's important to study their ideology like you would any social "disease", in order to disrupt it. Ignoring it will not make it go away. Breaking their hate requires identifying the roots of the rot.

But empathy, love?
