...the benefit and the benefit of their residents. Also, as VAT from the consumption of alcohol is treated similarly, all VAT should be collected and administered entirely by the states. This will insulate pious Sharia states from partaking in Haram taxes totally.

It will also ensure that their equally pious citizens are not exposed to what they consider to be Haram. Alcoh consumption, liquid or financial, can then stay in states that allow it.

This will be one of my major projects in the Senate when elected. People's religious beliefs must be FULLY respected to the letter. I don't believe Lagos should have a "special status". That would amount to begging for what is already ours. Keep your VAT, we keep ours, I say.
