These are people who still won’t accept the results of the Civil War. Of course they won’t accept that their man baby king lost. White grievance is BUILT on the fantasy of a stolen prominence. It’s purpose is to shield them from their essential mediocrity.

That’s why they were so upset about removing the statues of Civil War generals. The statues are a fantasy of white superiority. If you take them down, all you’re left with is a person who betrayed his country for deeply immoral reasons and STILL lost, precisely as Trump did.

I don’t expect them to change. It costs them too much to look in the mirror and see themselves as they truly are: ignorant, hateful, mired in nonsense conspiracies.

It’s also why they can’t be given any power. We made that mistake with Reconstruction. Let’s never make it again.
