I remember 2016 like it was yesterday.

(thread)
All the wonderful, compassionate outreach from Republicans, Trump fans, and casual members of the alt-right...
All the think pieces about everyday city folk, the interviews with people of color, the feminists who felt betrayed by the way the vote went...
The way the Republican party looked in ward and asked, "where did we go wrong? How can we gain your support?"
The right wing--from the media conglomerates to the rank and file-- met us in the middle. Showed us they cared. Brought us together and mostly...?
They gave us TIME to grieve and move on.
Really nice folk.
"How can we address your issues?" they said. "How can we get you under our tent?"
Emboldened by their victory, they went out into the street in an effort to unite us!
So, now at this juncture...to everyone who offered kindness and friendship to those of us who felt broken in 2016, or who met us in the middle and just LISTENED...I& #39;ll do the same.
Even since then, they& #39;ve understood that they have the political and brute power, and thus...it& #39;s their responsibility to reach out to those not in power.
They& #39;d NEVER use that power to intimidate anyone.
We should reach out when we lose, and when we win, asking nothing in return.

Right?
Honest credit to the Federalist for posting this article. I didn& #39;t look to see if there was a comments section because I love myself.
