Currently sitting in A&E having been head butted by a man earlier tonight. This man had already been involved in some sort of disorder & had a fresh injury to his forehead when we arrived to investigate. His blood has gone into my mouth. 1/4
Unfortunately for me this guy is believed #HepC positive. I’m now at risk of infection & will need precautionary vaccinations & also ‘PEP’ to protect from #HIV
I’ll probably have a black eye, I can live with that. But the worry of infection is going to be hard to deal with. 2/4

Another colleague was kicked & another stamped on by the same bloke!
It’s shocking to think how many colleagues in emergency services are still being assaulted & having this same worry daily, maybe it won’t be resolved for me for months. 3/4

Anyway, keep your fingers crossed please! Hopefully, this will serve to highlight the ongoing issues with assaults on emergency workers & the unforeseen consequences we can face.
