Last year I was talking with a kid from Syria who used @buildbox game software. After awhile we started talking more about our personal lives while I was helping him with game design. One day I asked him what it was like where he was and sent him a pic outside my window. (Cont)

He then replied with the same thing. Only it was a video. It started at his laptop screen with the Buildbox software running. He then walked to his window and recorded outside. He was on a 2nd story building. About a half mile away was gun shots. Constant bombs going off. (Cont)

This blew my mind. While I sit here in Flirida comfortable and making games. This kid was too....only it wasn't comfortable for him. War was right outside his window. At any moment it could shift to his block. I lost contact with him and never knew if he was ok or not. (Cont)

Just really put life in a diff perspective for me. How good I had it. What got me though is while this was happening he was focused on game design. As if it was going to be his way out. He wanted to move to America if one of his games took off. His accounts went dead. Hope hes ok
