Moderate Democrats blaming the Black Lives Matter Movement as one of the reasons for losing House seats is really something. Do y’all not see that Black people carried the party to presidential victory or do y’all just not like winning? 🤔 https://twitter.com/nhannahjones/status/1325439849009188869
The Democratic Party consistently relies on the Black voting bloc and then turns around and disparages the lives of that same voting bloc. Make it make sense! You can’t keep doing this and expect Black people to continue being civically engaged to your benefit. 🤦🏾‍♀️
Do mod Dems not notice the increase of Black ppl who voted Repub? Yes, they’re voting against own self-interest but it shows how disillusioned people are w/ the Dem Party. While some Black ppl may never vote conservatively, they may choose to sit out entirely. Who benefits then?
Moderate Dems need to stop pointing fingers and embrace the evolution of the party. You keep trying to go for the moderate Republican vote and then they do stuff like choose Biden for president and vote Republican down ballot. That’s the person you’re trying to court?!
If that’s the case,Dems need to stop acting like they’re the antithesis of the conservative party. They need to admit they have no intention of changing the status quo. But that would require acknowledging all the ways race remains a dividing force in this country AND w/in party.
Marketing 101 tells you that it is easier to keep a loyal patron than to try and acquire a new one. But with all these strategists, there’s no way Dems don’t know that. Just admit you don’t want to be the party of the people [of color] and get on with it.
Biden’s win hasn’t had time to percolate & y’all are already showing your whole asses. Ppl are going after @AOC like she’s being unreasonable when mod Dems are giving REPUBLICAN Kasich airtime like he’s voice of party. She’s RESPONDING to criticisms after playing for the team!
Stop the in-fighting! People—VOTERS—are watching. I leave you with a quote by MLK that rings just as true today as when he said it over 50 years ago: “...the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom...
“... is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to 'order' than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice”
